Hand Stripping - as I am new to this skill please contact me to see if I can assist. Please note as this is a highly labour intensive service, hand stripping is charged at £10 an hour and may take a minimum of four hours if a large dog. Please note as an example a Border terrier would be approx £35 depending on the coat.
- please note dogs that are particularly knotted or matted may incur an extra charge. Such coats normally have to be clipped close to the skin as it is not possible or kind to the dog to struggle with individual matts.
- Dogs on heat should not be brought to the salon. Little girls on heat will be very sensitive especially on their undercarriage and teats and grooming them at this time is not appropriate. Their residue smell creates an environment that does not allow other dogs to relax and sit still for a groom. Appointments for these little girls can always be rearranged. Dogs on heat that do attend the salon will incur an extra charge for the necessary cleaning required.
- Dogs with known contagious conditions such as conjunctivitis or fleas should not attend the salon. If fleas are found on your dog I will ring and ask you to collect your dog and seek vetinary advice re treatment. As dogs can be sensitive or have allergies a vet will be able to offer better advice than myself with regard to treatment.
- Please note as I work alone I am unfortunately unable to offer a service for larger, heavier dogs. Much as I would like to, it may be safer for giant breeds to visit a salon with 2 groomers.
